Eight hundred dollars? Yes, please. Original poems, essays, and works of fiction are now being accepted for the Bruner writing competition. A first-place award of $200 is available in each of four categories. The deadline for submissions is Friday, March 6th. Please see your current English teacher for more information or to request a review of your completed work before submission.
Are you fluent in two or more languages? Take the Seal of Biliteracy test and get recognized for your skills! Depending on your test results, you could earn credit at the high school and college levels. Employers will see this honor on your transcript which will also unlock further opportunities! Info sheets can be found in the counseling office. Sign up ends on February 27th (this Friday).

This is a reminder for all seniors - the CBAI or Raritan State Bank scholarship is due tomorrow. The Galesburg Elks Lodge scholarship is due Friday. The Farm Bureau Foundation, Evelyn Titus, Wilson-Schweitzer Foundation, and all of the Galesburg Community Foundation Scholarships are due on Saturday.
Sadies tickets are now on sale, and will be available until February 27. The cost is $5 in advance or $10 at the door. If you are planning to bring a guest who doesn’t attend MRHS, don’t forget to get the approval form from the office. Tickets can be purchased before school, during advisory, or from Mrs. Lewis in the LMC anytime except 4th period. Anyone who purchases Sadie’s tickets will be entered into a drawing for prizes such as a free yearbook, refunded Sadie’s tickets or an invitation to one of our famous Publications parties!
